Habitat Expo 2008
Home Show and Conference, May 22-25, 2008, Mexico City

By Melissa Mayes

The largest and most diverse home and design show in Mexico is back for the eighth year running. Habitat Expo will be held May 22nd through the 25th in Mexico City’s World Trade Center. Aimed at home decorators, developers, architects and the individual homeowner, Habitat Expo promises to promote innovative, creative, and high-quality home furnishings as well as design ideas.

In an attempt to strengthen the industry in Mexico, the first three days of the expo are reserved for interior design professionals. Conferences and seminars scheduled for the 22nd and 23rd will be offered by international experts in the fields of Urban Design, Business and Design, Interior Design in Latin America, and others. Entrance into the first three days of the expo costs 250 USD per day.

On Sunday, Habitat Expo opens its doors to the general public from 11am to 6pm and entrance is lowered to 100 pesos. With 8000 m2 of exhibition space, the event coordinators expect over 200 exhibitors and around 11,000 visitors. Among the exhibitors California Closets, Imagina (contemporary furniture), American Hardwood, Coinosa (audio, visual, lighting, automation), Aktual (art), COREV (paints, weather-proofing), and many, many more will be present. Surely, anyone looking to build, renovate, remodel or simply redecorate a home will find something of interest at Habitat Expo, Mexico’s “most exclusive” home and garden show.
